There! I up and made a new Tumblr, where I’ll show you little bits of Internet (mostly art) that I happen to like. You’ll find it here: Magnificent Spot.

Hi all, I will be posting new artwork in the coming weeks! I hope you haven’t lost any faith in me yet. Things are getting a bit weirder, a bit more abstract, and I’m playing around with fabrics and plastic too. I may also start another Tumblr with pictures and ideas and things I like just to keep myself active over here. In the meantime, please visit the Concordia MFA blog to see...

I’m working on some new drawings!
however:
1) My scanner cables are in boxes in somebody else’s basement.
2) My digital camera is broken.
I’ll tell you this, though. The new stuff is weird.

I know I haven't been around much
It’s been a crazy few months - eviction notices, overworked and underpaid at my day job, just trying to figure out what I’m supposed to be doing in life, so there hasn’t been much art lately.
But there will be.
I JUST GOT AN ACCEPTANCE TO THE MFA PROGRAM AT CONCORDIA. BACK TO MONTREAL AND BACK TO THE STUDIO. THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.
Thank you everybody for your support,...

Oh dear.
The drawing of the house (in the last post) doesn’t look too phallic, does it? I hate to give potential roommates the wrong idea (that I’m in possession of a phallus, for example).

Three seconds on national teevee! →
I don’t know if this is viewable outside of Canada, but my mind was pretty blown here at around 00:20.

An update on my fundraising campaign.
Since I mentioned the campaign yesterday, the results have been astounding. I reached 75% of my goal in about three hours. I’m just on the final stretch (about $10 to go!) and will be spending the evening making new drawings which I will post up here. I also went envelope-shopping with a five-year old who picked out the best envelope colours ever. (The kid also happens to be friends with one...
The Get-Beth-to-Grad-School Fundraising Campaign
Here’s the deal: I’m applying to a few different MFA programs (which I’ve talked about doing for eons), and I’ve recently realized I can’t afford all the application fees (they’re about $100 each) since a bunch of unexpected costs entered the picture (hello, eviction from beloved home!). So I’ve decided to concoct a Make Money Fast! scheme so I can...

I know I’m nearly a month late here, but I think this work needs to get out there to a larger audience. This is David Wojnarowicz’s 1987 film “Fire in my Belly”, now-famously pulled from the Smithsonian after it received criticism from conservative groups.

I must inform you that I’m slightly really drunk. (The bartender gave us free whiskey shots! Who could say no to that?)

Hello New Followers!
I was going to wait to put this up (because I have plenty to scan and upload), but I figure that since it’s the holidays, I should maybe have a SUPER HOLIDAY PRINT SALE. That’s right. I’m giving all Tumblr folks 20% off all prints (not custom art, sorry) from now until Christmas. Just enter HEYBUDDY when they ask for a coupon code.
Where do you find this sale? On Etsy, of...

Robert Baldwin, one of the fathers of democracy in Canada, spent years mourning the loss of his wife Eliza, who had died due to complications from a cesarean birth. He became obsessed with her death, turning her bedroom into a chapel, and bringing her letters with him everywhere he went (in case he’d die away from home). When Baldwin passed away, he requested that his coffin be chained to...

Just so you know...
I’m working my way up to creating a poutine Putin. Maybe on a unicorn.
